The site is www.socialstudies.blogspot.com. This site is also listed on the www.nylearns.org/sashe site. Thanks for your patience and good work. SN

Angelina Jolie
Angelina Jolie is an American actress who was on June 4, 1975. She has received an Academy Award, two Screen Actors Guild Awards, and three Golden Globe Awards. Jolie promotes humanitarian causes, and is noted for her work with refugees as a Goodwill Ambassador for the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR). I admire her because she is a very hard working woman and a very talented actress. She starred as Lara Croft from “Lara Croft: Tomb Raider” and voice acted as Master Tigress from” Kung Fu Panda,” there one of my favorite movies. She knew how to bring the personality out of the characters and I feel that she portrayed them well. I also seen her in other movies and she did very good in them. One of the things that I admire about her the most is that she cares about the well being of other people. Jolie visited refugee camps and helped out Africans in Sierra Leone and Tanzania. She even donated 1 million dollars to Afghan refugees and adopted three children from Ethiopia, Vietnam and Cambodia. I believe that Angelina Jolie is a great woman and that she of her achievements.
The questions that I’ll ask Angelina Jolie:
What was it like playing as Lara Croft?
How do you fell when you do your humanitarian work?
Do you plan on doing any future projects related to UNHCR?
If it’s possible, I think it would be great to send her an email.

Mae Carol Jemison was born in Decatur, Alabama and she was the youngest child of Charlie Jemison and Dorothy Green. The family moved to Chicago, Illinois, when Jemison was three years old, to take advantage of better educational opportunities there. Jemison says that as a young girl growing up in Chicago she always assumed she would get into space. Jemison loved science growing up but she also loved the arts. Jemison graduated from Chicago's Morgan Park High School in 1973[5] and entered Stanford University at age 16. Jemison graduated from Stanford in 1977, receiving a B.S. in chemical engineering. Jemison obtained her Doctor of Medicine degree in 1981 from Cornell Medical College. Jemison's inspiration for joining NASA was African-American actress Nichelle Nichols, who portrayed Lieutenant Uhura on Star Trek.[4] Jemsion was turned down on her first application to NASA, but in 1987 Jemison was accepted on her second application. Jemison logged 190 hours, 30 minutes, 23 seconds in space. Her awards include 1993 National Women's Hall of Fame, 2004 International Space Hall of Fame, 1992 Johnson Publications Black Achievement Trailblazers Award.

I admire Mae Jemison because she broke tradition of women being housewives. She was very determined and focused on what she wanted to do. She also paved the way for many women and black women at that to achieve their goals. She has done so many things to prove that she was good at things that men were capable of as well as white women. She held her head up high although she faced much discrimination because of her race.
Three questions I would ask are what motivated you to keep going? If you could do it all over again, would you? And who do you admire?

My Thanksgiving was rather cultural because i had, not one, but two types of dishes. First i went to my great aunts house for my usual St. Lucian style Thanksgiving lunch. then later that day i went to my stepfather's aunt's house for a great Nigerian feast that i look forward to getting much more of in the future.I have a very appetizing Thanksgiving
