Thanksgiving means exactly what it states. Thanks and Giving! A time where you give thanks for every thing you have and dont have because God has a plan for you. Thanksgiving to me means that it is a time for your family and friends to gather together. It is a time of giving...more than recieving. It is a time when you are thankful for what you have, also being grateful for God.
Thanksgiving to me means spending time with family that you probably havent gotten the chance to see much during the year. Its a time to have fun and catch up on events that have happened in your family and celebrate. Its also a good time to give thanks for what you have and the people that surround you all year round.
One of the things I am most thankful for is being able to work with the Class of 2010. You set high academic and personal goals for yourselves and, most often, work hard to reach them. Every day brings another way you make me laugh, smile or teach me something new. You make being at work something to look forward to. I will be at JoAnne's on Thursday, playing with the little guys, and will remember you in our family prayer.
Thanksgiving for me isn't really about being thankful for food or other material things like shelter. Instead for me Thanksgiving is another chance to gather with your family and remember lost loved ones. It's a chance to think of spirtual things that are dear to us in our hearts.
